I Claimed a Mountain as My Own, and You’re Telling Me This Is Journey to the West?

[Defying Fate] [System] [Power Fantasy] [Journey to the West] [No Saintly Protagonist]

Liu Boqin transmigrates to Two Boundary Mountain. The Tang dynasty has only just been established, and demons and monsters run rampant. He hones his archery and tears tigers and leopards apart with his bare hands, earning the title Mountain-Quelling Protector. He thinks he's living the part of an ancient fierce general and plans to become a mountain king, until one day he kindly feeds a pathetic monkey at the foot of the mountain a roast chicken.

The monkey bursts into tears. "Five hundred years! I've finally had a bite of hot meat!"

A golden light explodes before Liu Boqin's eyes. [Karmic Merit Record activated] [You fed the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, easing his suffering from swallowing iron and drinking bronze. Reward: Nine-Turn Profound Art, fragment!]

Liu Boqin is dumbfounded. What the hell, this is Journey to the West? Am I the hunter who gets written out after escorting Tang Sanzang, only to retire and live out my days? Seeing all the gods and Buddhas in the heavens staring at Five Elements Mountain, Liu Boqin tosses aside his bow and arrows. "To hell with being a tool! I'm clinging to this powerful ally for good! And I'm going to hunt every last one of those gods and Buddhas!"
