After Tripitaka succeeded in obtaining sutras, he was named the "Buddha of Sandalwood Merit" by Tathagata. He ate fasting and chanted Buddha's name every day, unable to feel the changes of time and seasons. Moreover, he was stuck in this position and never had the chance to be promoted. As time went by, his desire to advance to the Buddha level became stronger and stronger. Tathagata advised him It is better to slowly accumulate merit in heaven and not ask for trouble, but he firmly believes that he has passed the eighty-one tribulations and will definitely be able to become a Buddha by going down to earth again to learn Buddhist scriptures and experience hardships to become a Buddha. However, when he went down to earth, he found that hundreds of years had passed and the world was different now!
