Nine Resentments Town - a closed ancient town deep in the mountains, because of "nine kinds of folk grievances that have not been resolved for thousands of years" After the name, the grievances are hidden in nine core locations in the town (embroidery building, ancestral hall, ancient well, stage, charity village, private school, mill, medicine shop, ancestral house), corresponding to nine old folk taboos (taboo on marrying a daughter, taboo on worshiping ancestors, taboo on drinking water, taboo on singing opera, taboo on funerals, taboo on reading, taboo on working, taboo on practicing medicine, and taboo on living in the house). Most of the residents in the town are the descendants of "Grudge Keepers". They have protected the resentment from spreading for generations, but they are often counterattacked by the resentment, resulting in the phenomenon of "lost souls", "substitutes" and "scheming possessions".
