My Workaholic Buddy Turned into a Girl, and Our Friendship Changed

[Mutual devotion] [Gender Bender] [Pure Love] [Transformation into a Bride]

Computer science student Shen Zixuan was pulling an all-nighter for a research project when an accident triggered a gender transformation, turning him from a rough-and-tumble guy into a pretty girl.

The only person he could turn to was Jiang Chi, his buddy of three years.

They moved in together, and Shen Zixuan made do with his friend's sister's clothes. Jiang Chi would complain, “How are you supposed to work on the project like this?” while staying up late to help him with the technical stuff. When Shen got his period, Jiang Chi quietly brought him brown sugar ginger tea, blushing as he said he'd “looked it up online.” When a man hit on Shen, Jiang instinctively stepped in front of him, insisting, “I'm just worried you won't be used to this,” though the worry in his eyes gave him away.

Jiang Chi always chalked his special treatment of Shen Zixuan up to “looking out for a buddy.” Then one night, as they worked late on the project, he watched Shen's profile as he sat coding in black-rimmed glasses, and his heart suddenly went haywire. All those stumbles during his teasing, all that flustered eye contact: none of it had ever been “just friendship.”

Clutching the old USB drive Jiang Chi had given him, the one containing a photo of the two of them, Shen Zixuan finally confessed the feelings he could no longer hide. “Jiang Chi, I think... I've fallen for you.”
