From the moment he met An Yi, Chu Ze saw him as the sole salvation in his barren life.
He pressed closer at every turn, deliberately seeking him out and going to great lengths to imprison this light, which he believed belonged only to him, at his side.
He was adept at pretending to be gentle and obedient, playing the role of an affectionate, devoted golden retriever and laying every soft, tender part of himself before An Yi.
Obsession lurked beneath his docility; madness hid within his devotion.
He wanted absolute possession. Every glance in An Yi's eyes, every thought in his heart, every moment of his future had to belong to him alone.
Even if this possessiveness came with shackles and obsession, it also held his near-reverent, all-or-nothing devotion.
But after feigning madness and plotting at every turn, the one who fell in the end was always him.
He willingly offered his neck and bowed his head in surrender:
“I don't want to save you. I want you to save me.”
“If we can't love each other, then I'll tie you to me for a lifetime. If we can be bound together like this forever, that counts as spending our lives together.”
An Yi had once trusted his gentle facade. Only when he tore away the obedient disguise did he glimpse the deep-rooted obsession and madness in his very bones.
“Look at the shadow beneath your feet. It resembles you in every way.
It will always submit to you, always hide in the dark, unable to speak what it feels.
I am like your shadow, crawling at your feet.
The world sees you shining with boundless glory. No one knows that beside you, I am only a patch of darkness that cannot stand in the light.”
Final Chapter's Message
“May my beloved be faithful to me, or faithful to God.”
Very pretty. Gong seems to be naughty but actually very well-behaved. It's the first time I see Shiro and Kuro after watching too much. Shou is black from the inside out, pretending to be good, but not very well. We still don't know whether Shou was pretending to be drunk or if he was really drunk. It felt like he would get drunk as long as he drank with Gong.
Looks good, Chu Ze deserves to be beaten! _(:з∠)_
