I Use a CT Scanner to Rob Tombs, and It Identifies Ancient Psychic Energy

In the south, they read the mountains to locate gold; in the north, they sniff the soil to identify artifacts.

But here in the Northeast, the rules are different: before entering a tomb, we have to hold a project review meeting.

My name is Lin Jiu, and I’m the team’s chief technology officer. While other tomb raiders are still arguing over the age of black donkey hooves, we’re already analyzing tomb air with a mass spectrometer. While they listen to the wind to find their bearings, our 3D sonar images are already generated.

This project is codenamed “Ambrosia.” Our target: an underground fortification left behind by the Kwantung Army. The alarm was triggered by a Jin-dynasty corpse guardian with a signal transmitter embedded in its chest. My biophysical-field monitoring brooch is flashing wildly in sync with its frequency.

Behind the bronze gate lies an ancient “spirit network” capable of rewriting the laws of physics. The shamanic blood-sacrifice array before the gate and the spiritual contamination left by the Japanese army make the whole site feel like a nightmare.

My partner, Heizi, whose family has been combat engineers for eight generations, has wired electricity to his entrenching tool.

Captain Shen from Bureau 749 has swapped in a magazine etched with suppression runes.

The newcomer, a former “vessel” of the Seven Stars Society, is trying to understand what it means to “go to work.”

I leveled the portable CT scanner and spoke over the team channel:

“Everyone, carry out Contingency Plan Seven. Remember, we’re not here to loot treasure...”

“We’re here to install the final patch on a bug-ridden System that’s been running for seven hundred years.”
