Playing with Fire: I Provoked a Miao Boy and Got Forced Into It

Love is not an adventure game where you can do as you please. If you casually provoke someone pure-hearted, you must be prepared to be imprisoned forever by the purity of their love.

Photographer Gu Yan ventured deep into the mountains to capture inspiration, fell in love at first sight with Yun Qing, a young man from the Miao frontier, and pursued him passionately. Once Yun Qing’s frozen heart had melted and he had given himself completely, Gu Yan grew tired of the hardships of life in the mountains and began wanting to leave.

His betrayal enraged the pure-hearted, dangerously obsessive Yun Qing, and so began a campaign of confinement and discipline in the name of love. Those who seek freedom will eventually pay for their frivolous provocations.
