Reborn Xu Damao: A Comeback in the Siheyuan

In the late autumn of 1956 in Beiping, Xu Damao, a projectionist at the Red Star Steel Mill, jolted awake from a drunken stupor, only to find himself back at the crossroads of his life. In his previous life, he was swept up in Yi Zhonghai's schemes to secure support in his old age and spent half his life fighting He Yuzhu. He abused his virtuous wife, Lou Xiao'e, and ultimately died a lonely, wretched man, abandoned by everyone. Reborn, the naïveté had vanished from Xu Damao's eyes, leaving only cold clarity. He exposed and struck back against Yi Zhonghai's favoritism and schemes, met He Yuzhu's bullying provocations head-on, and vowed to devote his entire life to cherishing Lou Xiao'e, to whom he had owed so much in his previous life.
