Death Amusement Park

Death Amusement Park tells the story of Xu Jia, a down-and-out online novelist with stomach cancer and only thirty days left to live. After receiving a mysterious invitation, he enters the Death Amusement Park, where the currency is called Ren coins. Participants earn Ren coins by taking on deadly games themed around the twenty-four solar terms, then exchange them for more time to live. Relying on his wits and the goodness he still has left, Xu Jia struggles to survive perilous challenges such as “Give and Take” and “The Chessboard of Life and Death.” Along the way, he meets a mysterious young woman named Han Kui. But the amusement park is governed by strict rules, its “house” operators each have their own agendas, and black-clad hunters lurk in the shadows. Meanwhile, in the real world, Xu Jia turns his dream experiences into a novel to raise money for medical treatment, while he and Han Kui search for each other in reality. The story weaves together two plotlines, exploring human nature, trust, and redemption through suspense and adventure, and revealing that “sometimes, facing death is the only way to live.”
