Chu Xun, a "wandering soul" in the city who is struggling to make ends meet, relies on a pair of ears that are extremely sensitive to sound to do all kinds of miscellaneous mixing work. He thought life was a pool of stagnant water, until late one night, he caught a melody that shouldn't exist among the countless noises in the city.
It was a piece of music played by the ancient "Sheng", which was strange and graceful, but also filled with unspeakable pollution.
From that day on, the world fell apart in his ears. Neighbors dance to silent beats in the middle of the night, colleagues' murmurs turn into distorted notes, and the bustling city is quietly "changing tune" in a strange movement.
In order to survive, and to stop the damn tinnitus that seemed to be ringing from the depths of his soul, Chu Xun plunged into this crazy world composed of "listeners", "players" and "silent ones". Before he is completely assimilated by the melody, he must find the source of it all - the taboo "Sheng" that tones for whom he does not know who it is.
But he gradually discovered that his entanglement with the melody might have been doomed even before he was born.
