On the living fungus planet Mycogaia, humanity's collective emotions are transformed into real-life weather. Ryan, the cloud shepherd, can listen to the painful pulse of the planet through the mycelial network. When the strange "rotten fish falling from the sky" event heralds the collapse of the global emotional system and activated fungi begin to counterattack humanity, Ryan must go deep into the bowels of the planet to find the legendary "Heart of the Planet."
