In a Terrible Reading Slump, Looking for Highly Rated Novels

I'm desperately out of books to read. Looking for highly rated novels: modern romance, period pieces, historical romance, palace and household intrigue, or cultivation with a small ensemble cast. Something original, like that book about the young Miaojiang lord and A Jiu, or the one where the wealthy biological father shows up, with Shang Xi and Gu Wen.
