Siheyuan: A Different He Yuzhu

At seventy, He Yuzhu has both legs broken by Bang Geng, the boy he raised all his life, and is driven out of the courtyard like a stray dog. In the freezing wind, he gazes at the familiar gray bricks and tiles, consumed by regret. He gave everything to raise an ungrateful wretch, worked himself to the bone while the whole courtyard bled him dry, and spent his life with the word “fool” stamped on his forehead, only to die alone in misery!

“If I get another life, I won’t be a fool again!” His dying cry shakes him to the core. The heirloom jade bangle Lou Xiao'e left him, soaked in his blood, suddenly activates the space hidden inside it!

A flash of white light, and his soul travels back through time. He returns to 1951 as sixteen-year-old He Yuzhu.

That year, Jia Zhangshi hasn’t started throwing tantrums, Yi Zhonghai’s plans for securing his old age have yet to take shape, and Qin Huairu hasn’t begun her moral blackmail. The courtyard’s beasts are still hiding behind masks of false virtue.

With the weathered soul of a seventy-year-old in the strong body of a sixteen-year-old, and the space at his disposal, He Yuzhu smirks and picks up his pen to rewrite his life:

Those who plot against me? You’ll end up losing more than you gain!

Those who bleed me dry? You’ll get nothing for all your trouble!

Moral blackmail? I’ll tear off your mask and give you no quarter!

The beasts run rampant? Then they can taste what it means to be crushed by someone from the future!

In this life, he’ll protect only those who are sincere and earn money the honest way. He’ll punch ungrateful wretches, kick hypocrites, turn the courtyard upside down, and live a life unlike any other!
