Dr. Gu, Our Contract Is Up. Shall We Renew?

With a prenuptial agreement, Su Xiaoruan became Gu Shiyan’s “contract wife.”

They agreed not to interfere in each other’s lives, to sleep in separate rooms, and to divorce after two years.

But after they married, something about her life felt off at every turn

The rare, discontinued mold she casually mentioned appeared on her workbench the very next day;

Whenever she worked late at the studio, his calls always came right on time;

When she suffered cramps during her period, he had everything ready, yet said sternly, “Avoid cold food and drinks,” as if following a doctor’s orders.

Su Xiaoruan always thought this was simply Dr. Gu’s meticulous, responsible version of “roommate friendship.”

That was until she accidentally discovered that the ever-composed Dr. Gu’s phone was full of photos of her grinning foolishly, all saved under the name “Heart-Pounding Syndrome.”

And one late night, the man who had insisted on signing the agreement held her in his arms and pleaded in a hoarse voice:

“Ruanruan, can we void the agreement?”

“Let’s… renew our contract for life.”
