After a crushing defeat in the City League, He Xiaonan and his grassroots team see their dream fall apart. Facing his family’s lack of understanding and the harshness of reality, he makes an all-or-nothing decision: to lead his entire team into the struggling semi-pro club Night Monsters as its reserve squad.
They hope to find an opportunity, but instead stumble into an even deeper mire. The team’s starters betray them by throwing a crucial match, sending the squad into one defeat after another. One more loss, and they will be kicked out of the league for good!
At this critical moment, the perceptive owner makes a bold decision: He Xiaonan and his original lineup will take the starters’ place!
Called up in a crisis, they fight back from the brink. They pull off the impossible, stage one upset after another, and force their way into the professional league!
But before the joy of victory can fade, the owner, exhausted both mentally and physically, decides to sell the team. Unwilling to let fate control them again, He Xiaonan pours everything he has into buying the team, only to find himself short by a staggering four hundred thousand dollars.
Half a month of scrambling brings little hope. Then a mysterious investor appears…
The team survives, but the road through the professional league is lined with formidable foes. Where will this team, reborn from betrayal and desperation, go from here? Their fight to break through is only just beginning.
