When her family falls into ruin and her engagement is broken off, Fu Yunyao is forced into the palace and made a shield for the emperor's beloved.
Everyone thinks she's just a pretty ornament they can push around, but they don't know she's gorgeous, sharp as a thorn, and brilliant beyond compare!
Her rival pretends to be weak to win sympathy, then stabs her in the back behind the scenes? Fu Yunyao exposes her snake-hearted nature, ruining her reputation!
The emperor coldly uses her and treats her as a disposable pawn? She won't fight for his favor or fall in love. She focuses on her own ambitions and slays her way through the harem until no one dares cross her!
When the truth finally comes to light, Xiao Che looks at the woman he wounded so grievously, who still shines as brightly as ever, and completely loses his mind. “A-Yao, I beg you, turn around and look at me!”
He stands in the snow for three days and nights, warms her medicine with his bare hands, abolishes the imperial consort selection, and dismisses the entire harem, all just to make her smile.
Fu Yunyao raises an eyebrow and runs her fingertip over his handsome face. “An emperor's apology? I want to reign supreme over the Six Palaces, and I want you to spend the rest of your life groveling at my feet!”
Xiao Che agrees without hesitation. “Done! Whatever you want, I'll give you!”
From then on, the tyrant becomes a devoted lapdog. If the empress says east, he won't go west; if she wants someone beaten, he hands her the whip.
