The Mortal Devourer

[A growth-focused story · No saintly hero · Decisive and ruthless]

On the day the apocalypse begins, timid ride-hailing driver Shen Fan is beaten by loan sharks, and his blood drips onto an ancestral ring, unexpectedly activating its power to devour. He kills zombies, devours their crystals, strengthens his body, and opens up a pocket dimension. He stops backing down: from beating the bullies and killing the security chief to raiding a grain depot at night and fighting bloody battles against zombie hordes, he transforms step by step from a nobody in the ruins into an iron-fisted leader. Betrayal by his ex-girlfriend, a brother's treachery, and a mastermind's game of selection teach him one thing: in this apocalypse, mercy is a death sentence. When the ring devours ten thousand corpses and the truth comes to light, he turns out to be the only key to humanity's ark. Someone is waiting to reclaim him.
