Lan Yin's Soft Song, Qing Lin's Endless Flow

Yun Lanyin opened a shop for intangible cultural heritage crafts, but could never find a way to revive traditional artistry. Then, one rainy night, Mu Qinglin, a rising tech entrepreneur in Hangzhou, pushed open the door of “Whispers.”

“Your Suzhou embroidery is beautiful,” he said, gently brushing his fingertips over the double-sided embroidery on a screen. “But it’s on the verge of being lost.”

His proposal stunned her: use motion-capture technology to record every rise and fall of the embroiderers’ fingers, use AI algorithms to unravel the secrets of thousand-year-old stitches, and build an everlasting exhibition hall for intangible cultural heritage in the metaverse.

“I don’t want to make a copy. I want tradition to live in the present.” His warm voice held an unshakable resolve.

Forced to work together, they each had their own reasons:

· She wanted to protect the last remaining endangered crafts.

· He wanted to fulfill his grandmother’s dying wish.

· And the capitalists watching from the sidelines already saw intangible cultural heritage as the next big opportunity.

When traditional craftsmanship collides with the digital tide, it must either be swept away by the times or ride the waves. She chose to write the future of intangible cultural heritage with her own hands.
