[The Imperial Exams] + [Alternate History]
Transmigrated into the body of Fu Erdan, a little farm boy, he finds himself with biased grandparents, a parasitic uncle, and a spineless father who lets his parents work him like an old ox.
His sister is about to be sold, and he’s next in line to become a little work ox. What a start: this is a disaster!
Luckily, he has two things going for him: a photographic memory and a System knowledge base.
His grandparents can’t recognize a gem when they see one? He turns the tables with a perfectly staged run-in and locks onto the village’s most useful ally: Sixth Grandpa, a scholar with an all-consuming obsession with changing the family’s fortunes!
What happens when a child prodigy with a photographic memory meets an old scholar who’s desperate to raise his family’s status?
And so begins a carefully orchestrated plan to have the whole family adopted into another household!
After he joins Sixth Grandpa’s family, seven-year-old Fu Erdan takes first place in the county exams and makes a name for himself throughout Qinghe County. His parasitic grandparents are dumbfounded, and his good-for-nothing uncle falls apart.
By then, Fu Erdan has changed his name to Fu Wenyuan. He calmly lays out paper and grinds his ink: Don’t rush. This is only the beginning.
Fu Wenyuan goes on to take first place in all six imperial examinations, becoming the first and only top scholar in the dynasty’s history to achieve a clean sweep!
