When autumn comes on September 8th, I will kill all the flowers after they bloom. The incense formation soaring to the sky penetrates Chang'an, and the whole city is covered with golden armor.
It exposes the decadent nature of the gentry's monopoly of power, annexation of wealth, and suppression of the lower classes, and shows the erosion of the foundation of the middle and late Tang dynasty by the gentry system and the destruction of people's livelihoods. It ends with the Huang Chao uprising to conquer Chang'an and liquidate the public officials' gentry, interpreting the historical inevitability that "the gentry will not be destroyed, and the troubled times will continue."
