Shen Mo, a graduate student in Harvard’s Department of Occult Studies, falls into a coma after touching a Mayan stele. When he wakes, he has become the honorary president of the University of Michigan. But the university has long been corrupted by the whispers of an evil god: ancient books in the library seep human blood at midnight, and monsters that devour sanity lurk in the shadows of the classroom corridors.
University Rule Zero: Under no circumstances may anyone look directly at the president’s true appearance. Violators will trigger “SAN erosion.”
System binding: “An ‘Unknowable Beauty’ Host detected. The ‘Ring of the End’ plan is now active: summon Earth’s players to become your ‘students.’”
Player traits:
√ Their resistance to the mental corruption of evil gods’ followers can be adjusted, up to 50%.
√ They come equipped with an “Absurd Tabletop RPG System,” turning forbidden rituals into live-action murder mysteries.
√ They use knowledge from Earth to fight the unknown: some use The Art of War to break Deep One formations, while others interpret the prophecies of the Star-Spawn with The Duke of Zhou’s Book of Dreams.
President’s authority:
- A gaze can seal monsters for a short time.
- Crystallized tears can serve as keys to forbidden spaces.
- Each time he uses his abilities, the strange sight of collapsing nebulae appears in his pupils.
Deadly mystery:
Shen Mo discovers that the Star-Spawn totem on his palm resonates with an ancient being sealed deep beneath the campus. The players seem to know more about the truth of this world than he does: they can name the evil gods’ weaknesses with uncanny accuracy, and even predict when he is about to lose control.
System warning:
“Players are trading the ‘president’s good looks’ for forbidden information!”
“Player has violated University Rule Zero. SAN reduced by 30%!”
