Folklore enthusiast Chen Mo came to the isolated Wangjiacun alone for a strange nursery rhyme. He discovered that the villagers abided by an ever-increasing set of inexplicable rules, and those who violated the rules would disappear out of thin air. As the investigation deepened, he realized that this was not a village, but a living hell built of sin and curses.
