In this modern city, where spiritual energy has dried up and the gods have fallen, Gu Chenyuan was once the Lord of Oblivion, who governed the life and death of all things. Now, he's merely a down-and-out shopkeeper running an old bookstore called Wangchuan. His only wish is to raise the gluttonous daughter he took in, Gu Xiaoyu, who was born with the ability to devour anything.
But Gu Xiaoyu's appetite keeps growing, and ordinary food can no longer satisfy her. To keep his daughter fed, Gu Chenyuan has no choice but to return to his old ways: hunting the bizarre gods and demons awakening from the cracks of the old era and turning them into “special snacks.”
“Dad, that tentacle guy looks delicious. Does he taste like squid?”
“That’s an evil god from the Cthulhu mythos… but if you’re hungry, then he’s grilled squid.”
This is a heartwarming (and slightly horrifying) story about an ancient god who, for his daughter’s sake, has to be a full-time dad while turning the resurrected gods into a grand banquet.
