All Things in the World Come to an End

(Cultivation, ensemble cast, coming-of-age, goofy at first, heartbreaking later, twists, wild imagination, emotions, human nature)

That spring, the skies were high and the sea vast. We all met.

We cried and laughed together, bickered noisily, and faced the world with youthful confidence.

Beneath a meteor shower, we wished we’d be friends for life.

We all dreamed of making a name for ourselves and becoming peerless prodigies.

Perhaps our friendship back then had grown too deep.

This early spring, after wandering in circles, we met again.

Everything stayed the same, but the people we knew were gone.

We cultivated great power, yet couldn’t hold on to a single friend from our youth.

Somehow, we drifted apart as we walked on.

One look back, and we gaze at each other from afar.

The lights of the human world can’t compare to you; the stars in the sky aren’t you.

Though I’m sorry for how things turned out, I have no regrets about meeting you all.

We didn’t turn against one another. The Great Dao simply sent us to opposite ends of the road.

We dared to defy heaven and change fate, but couldn’t change how things ended for us.

I couldn’t stay by your side year after year, so all I can do is wish you peace, year after year.

The story began with hard work and laughter, but ended with nothing but an endless wait.

We never fought. We just slowly drifted apart.

No crying, okay? At least we once knew each other.
