Synopsis:
Yun Yi's beast-taming career gets off to a disastrous start. His soul power is so weak that he's labeled "the industry's bad-luck charm," and his starting spirit beast is nothing but a little black-shelled turtle he picked up from a garbage heap. His classmates raise dragons, phoenixes, and qilins, competing like their lives depend on it. Yun Yi is the only one who spends every day worrying about whether his turtle has eaten and slept well. The whole school thinks he's a joke, until a primordial dragon descendant goes berserk at the academy tournament, its overwhelming presence bearing down on the entire arena. In the midst of everyone's despair, the little turtle on Yun Yi's shoulder stretches lazily, looking annoyed. It simply stamps one foot, and the entire arena floor turns into the boundless Sea of the Northern Darkness.
