The Pact of Abyss and Earth: Legacy and Choices in The Owl Rises from the Green Earth

An extended work based on the worldbuilding and core concepts of The Owl Rises from Qingrang:

Beneath the boundary between light and darkness, an ancient pact is crumbling.

Museum researcher Lin Wan awakens the bloodline of the Land Guardians after coming into contact with a Han dynasty jade cong, and is forced into a thousand-year war between humanity and the vicious underground creatures known as the Owls. When she discovers that Wuying, the radical leader of the Owl clan, intends to tear up the pact and return to the human world, she has no choice but to join forces with Lu Chen, an adventurer searching for his missing older brother.

Venturing deep into the eerie underground world of Qingrang, Lin Wan faces choices between the survival of her people and the bonds of human nature. Gradually, she uncovers the ultimate secret of her bloodline: she is not the guardian of the pact, but the only key to whether the two worlds can coexist.

As darkness devours the human world, she must choose: will she become the dawn that saves the world, or the abyss that destroys it?
