The Great Wilderness Record of the Mysterious Firmament and Yihuang

The land has nine wilds, and the sky has eight reaches. A modern soul transmigrates into the Great Wilderness just as the Yi tribe teeters on the brink of extinction. Zhang Ling is entrusted with the role of Bimo in their hour of crisis. He lays the foundations with Xingyi martial arts, seeks the five grains and settles in Lugu, leads the tribe to prosperity over ten years, brews fine liquor to open up trade, spreads the power of Huajin, and breaks through to Danjin.

One day, he furiously kills the young lord of Wuxian and, gravely wounded, gains enlightenment and sees the divine. Twice, he wins the Dragon Contest, and the resulting fortune flows back to help his tribe prosper. Conflict erupts across the nine wilds, and the Yi tribe aligns with Nanli. The upper realm sparks a new conflict, and the five directions establish their Heavenly Court. Zhang Ling takes an honorary post in Nanli, stays in the lower realm to comprehend the Great Dao, creates the Great Investiture of the Gods Technique, forges the Investiture of the Gods, and passes it on to his disciple, Zhang Hao.

With the list in hand, Hao walks the mortal world, gathers heroic spirits, establishes the Haotian Fortune Dynasty, and launches a counterattack against the five directional Heavenly Emperors. Zhang Ling steps in to protect the Dao, fighting five alone and slaying the Nine Heavens Supreme, but is left plagued by Dao wounds. Once the dynasty is restored to the right path, he returns to his hometown to recuperate. In the end, his Dao wounds claim his life, and his soul returns to the modern world.

The instant he takes the divine fan and follows its directions, it all feels like a great dream. Then he senses the Yellow Court Realm within him still turning ceaselessly. It turns out those ten years building a life in the Great Wilderness and that battle against the Nine Heavens to become a god were all part of his true path. The glory of the Yi tribe alone will endure forever within his inner universe!
