There have been a lot of stories in this genre lately, and I really like the premise, but so many are painfully awkward. The characters are too stereotyped and reduced to labels, and the plots are all too similar. The plotlines feel the same too, with scripts that seem to go dark and gruesome just for the sake of being dark and gruesome. It's honestly pretty awkward.
