Zhuge Guo was not entirely fictional. She was inspired by the book A Comprehensive History of Immortals Through the Ages, which records that when Zhuge Liang's daughter Zhuge Guo was born, auspicious signs appeared in the sky and cranes circled overhead. She began cultivating the Dao as a child and eventually ascended to immortality.
