Earthy science fiction + suspense comedy + Northeastern magical realism
My name is Zhou Bei, and I was originally working as a social worker in a big city. However, my life and my project collapsed together, and I was kicked back to my hometown in the north where there is no place for shit. I thought that at most I would drink some snowflakes and chat about life with my second uncle who was left behind, but who knew that on the first day after I came back, the "immortal masked man" in my dream sent me an invitation to an offline PK—it scared my second uncle's only old sow into giving birth.
In order to save my family's only "liquid asset", I was forced to team up with the town's only "cultural industry leader" - short drama actor Cui Tong. He was convinced it was a traffic code, and I just wanted to know how to deliver a pig. Our only clues were the "tube house" buried alive in the snow in the dream, and the three neighboring families who looked more like villains than me.
The investigation process was quite explosive: I started with a broken bamboo broom, Cui Tong tried to exorcise the demon through live broadcast, but the top brother rewarded me with a carnival and asked the ghost to show his face. We also unearthed an old-fashioned shotgun that can be used as a cultural relic from the kang hole, and an ancestral diary that records "how to use frozen pears to fight supernatural beings."
Now, we are facing a thing that cannot be killed by gunfire or burned by fire, and my teammates are discussing with it whether we can sign an exclusive entertainment agency contract. I just want to ask: Is it still too late to run away now? There are more secrets buried in this northern wasteland than cabbage in the cellar, and it doesn't look documentary at all!
Come and see, come and see
