This is a fantasy time-travel novel with the "inheritance of mortise and tenon culture as an intangible cultural heritage" as its core. It tells the epic story of wood craftsman Chen Cheng and cultural scholar Ming Ran working together to protect the millennium mortise and tenon technique, fight against dark forces, and promote the common prosperity of global civilization.
The story begins with the demolition crisis of "Chen's Woodwork" in the south of the Yangtze River. Chen Cheng accidentally awakens the ancestral Xuanmu mortise and tenon box and discovers that it contains the mysterious power of traveling through time and space and communicating aura. In order to save the dying art of mortise and tenon joints, he and Mingran traveled through dynasties such as the Northern Song Dynasty and Ming Dynasty, and learned lost techniques such as "Seventy-two Dougong Styles" and "Living Tenon Craftsmanship" from ancient woodworking masters. The two gradually fell in love during their adventure across time and space, and became each other's most solid support.
