Heavenly Court War God? Call Me the Honghuang God of Slaughter

Also known as: The Primordial World: I Went on a Killing Spree in the Investiture of the Gods War

Yang Jian, a modern-day corporate drone, becomes Yang Jian of the Primordial World: the future True Lord Who Heeds Orders but Not Imperial Decrees, whose life has been laid out for him in meticulous detail.

From the start, it’s hell mode: his mother, Yaoji, is imprisoned beneath Peach Mountain; his father, Yang Tianyou, and his elder brother, Yang Jiao, die before his eyes; his young sister, Yang Chan, has only him to rely on; and the pursuers from the Celestial Court are never far behind.

Yang Jian, who knows the “script,” thinks that his foreknowledge will let him defy fate and save his mother from danger.

But he discovers in despair that, in the great game of the Primordial World, what he calls “foreknowledge” is a joke.

The schemes of the saints, the decrees of the Heavenly Dao: every step he takes in struggle seems to land on a square that was decided long ago.

He tries to save his mother, but Peach Mountain collapses and Yaoji dies.

He tries to protect his sister, but can only watch helplessly as she heads for Mount Hua.

He longs for freedom, but is swept into the Investiture of the Gods catastrophe and becomes a pawn in the struggles of the various factions.

“If hard work actually worked, why would anyone need cheats?”

When all his patience, compromises, and schemes still bring him only the loss of his loved ones and utter helplessness, the soul from the modern world within him merges completely with the baleful energy of the Eight-Nine Profound Art.

He casts aside the humble disguise of the True Lord of Pure Origin and Wondrous Dao, and tightens his grip on the Three-Pointed, Double-Edged Blade.

If the Heavenly Dao is unjust and the saints are heartless, then he’ll carve out a bright new world with his own hands!

From then on, the Primordial World has one fewer benevolent war god and one more figure who makes immortals and gods tremble: a God of Slaughter!
