Chapter 25: Exploring the Void, the Mystery of Source Power
After leaving the Qingyun Sect, Li Xin and Su Muxue headed west toward the rift in the void said to connect multiple realms. Along the way, they encountered all kinds of cultivation factions, as well as numerous challengers drawn by Li Xin's growing fame.
One day, they reached a wasteland called Starfall Plains. It had earned its name from a star that fell there in ancient times. Meteor craters pocked the ground, and faint fluctuations of source power filled the air. As they searched for traces of source power, a group of cultivators clad in black armor suddenly appeared and blocked their way.
“Li Xin, hand over the Source Star Mark, and we’ll spare your lives!” The leader’s aura was formidable, putting him at the mid Nascent Soul stage. An uncanny energy, utterly unlike that of the Netherworld Hall, radiated from him.
Li Xin’s gaze sharpened. “Who are you?”
“We’re Void Hunters. We track down those who possess source power.” The leader sneered and signaled his subordinates to attack. “You refuse the easy way, so don’t blame us for being rough!”
Dozens of Void Hunters attacked at once. Strange void techniques wove into a net and swept toward the two of them. Su Muxue cast wood-element spells, summoning a mass of vines to form a defensive barrier, but the power of the void tore it apart in an instant
