Urban Workplace: My Mentor Is My Rival's Apprentice

A story built around “shocking twists” and “complex relationships”

On my first day at work, the mentor I revered as a god personally shoved me into the abyss and made me take the blame for a multimillion-dollar project.

Just as I was about to be thrown out, the company's most formidable deputy director, who was locked in a bitter fight to the death with my mentor, stepped in to protect me and casually dropped a bombshell:

“That beloved teacher of yours is a traitor I trained many years ago...”

In an instant, the prey became the hunter.

It turned out this workplace manhunt was actually a reckoning over the grudges of three generations of master and disciple!

Why it could be a hit:

A high-conflict opening: “Revered as a god” versus “shoved into the abyss” grabs readers' attention right away.

The central mystery: It immediately reveals the novel's biggest twist, “the mentor is the archenemy's disciple,” creating intense dramatic tension.

Escalating relationships: “A reckoning over the grudges of three generations of master and disciple” raises the stakes, turning a simple workplace struggle into a fated feud between sect-mates, appealing to readers who enjoy complex character relationships.

A taste of the payoff: “The prey becomes the hunter” promises that the protagonist will soon turn the tables and strike back, delivering the satisfaction readers are looking for.
