Origin of Cataclysm
One day in 3078, the earth was suddenly captured by a high-dimensional biological "observer" and became its "ecological petri dish" experiment. Observers injected massive amounts of water from dozens of different planets into the earth, causing sea levels to skyrocket. At the same time, the earth's crust was completely shattered by dimensional pressure, and the original continental plates split into countless floating islands of different sizes.
Fusion mechanism
The observers launched the "Planet Fusion Project" and randomly dropped debris, creatures, and resources from other planets on the verge of destruction to the earth at regular intervals. These alien elements have violent conflicts with the earth's original ecosystem - strange plants grow wildly, mutated creatures appear, and unknown minerals emerge. The earth is expanding in an irreversible way, and gravity, climate, and ecology are all undergoing drastic changes.
Card system
In order to allow the "experimental subjects" (human beings) to have basic survivability, the observers "cardized" the rules of the entire world. All items, skills, creatures, and even natural phenomena can be converted into cards in specific ways. Humans can gain power by collecting, synthesizing, and upgrading cards. Everyone has a "deck space", which initially only has 10 card slots and needs to be expanded by completing tasks.
Main quest
All survivors share one ultimate goal: to merge all lands and unify the broken world. Only by completing this task can humans be qualified to initiate "dimensional arbitration" against observers and fight for the freedom of the earth. However, after the fusion, only one island owner can retain the right to rule, which leads to extremely fierce competition among humans.
