A Silent Medical Journey: Chasing Away the Gloom to Become a Great Doctor

(A coming-of-age story about traditional Chinese medicine. Although there will be occasional time skips, I still want to write about someone starting as a complete beginner and gradually learning, with the System granting him special techniques as well as independent study and lessons from an experienced doctor. I know many people don’t like this slower pace, but I still want to write it. Once the System has granted him the Thirteen Ghost Gate Needles and the Midnight-Noon Ebb-Flow Acupuncture Method, I plan to skip ahead.) On February 16, a chain-reaction car crash, a fatal disaster unseen in a decade, took Lin Yan’s parents from him forever and robbed him of the courage to speak. The shadow of autism followed him everywhere, while cruel words like “jinx” and “bringer of bad luck” never stopped. Only his grandfather always stood between him and the world, sheltering him with profound love and passing on the family’s century-old tradition of Chinese medicine without holding anything back. Exceptionally gifted and blessed with extraordinary learning ability, he had mastered everything his grandfather knew before even starting high school: the precision of peerless acupuncture, the intricacies of secret medicinal recipes, and the mastery of therapeutic massage. He was also consistently top of his class in academics. His handsome looks and quiet nature earned him the label of “aloof academic genius,” until, in his first year of high school, he met the heir to a business family who became his deskmate. His cheerful optimism was like the spring sun, gradually melting the ice in Lin Yan’s heart and bringing light into his closed-off world. He holds fast to his commitment to carrying on the tradition of Chinese medicine, while embracing the warmth at the heart of humanity. Lin Yan will eventually break free from the chains of his past and face the pain buried deep in his heart. With his miraculous healing arts as his blade, he will light the way for himself and others. (A story about healing and being healed.)
