After waking up one morning, financial whiz Shen Jing finds herself in the 1960s as Shen Jinghua, a frail “capitalist heiress.”
Her husband’s family takes advantage of her because she’s an orphan with no one to rely on. They steal her job, drain her finances, and even force her to hand over her military officer husband’s allowance.
Faced with her parasitic in-laws, Shen Jinghua feels the space jade pendant she has awakened and smiles.
Of course she’ll join the army.
But before she leaves, she calmly begins her “zero-cost shopping spree.”
Cash, grain coupons, cured meat, fabric... even her brother-in-law’s new watch, her sister-in-law’s dowry, and her mother-in-law’s hidden stash. She clears it all out!
With only a shabby bundle in hand, she boards a train for the northwest while her in-laws curse and wail.
Everyone thinks she’s off to suffer, and looks forward to watching her get rejected by her cold-faced military officer husband and come crawling back in disgrace.
But when she arrives at the army base, her stern husband puts his passbook in her hands. “You’re in charge of this household.”
Shen Jinghua looks at the mountain of “family assets” piled up in her space, then at the cold, hard man before her.
Well, life with the army seems... a lot more interesting than she expected.
I like it very much. It is written in such a concise way and almost all of it is useful. Most of the plots are not developed, which is the characteristic of this novel. There are not more characters created, but the Gobi desert and the soldiers are covered in sweat and sand, which makes people sympathize with it. Especially the heroine, there is not much in the image design, but she is full of characteristics, outstanding personality and lifelike. Like.
It's so beautiful. The description at the end of each chapter makes you feel plain and warm. Work hard.
The writing skills are very strong!
