Synopsis of The Sword of All Living Beings
In the chaotic Great Xia, as imperial power crumbles, impoverished scholar Yun Feibai forms the White Eagle Army to sweep away the darkness engulfing the land. From a mountain of corpses, he rescues Gu Zhan, a feral child who devours raw flesh and wields a massive black-iron sword, a star of calamity. After three years fighting side by side, Gu Zhan believes he has finally found a home, only to discover that Yun Feibai’s obsession has driven him mad. As the incense burns for the blood sacrifice, his former brother offers their battle-hardened comrades to the Netherworld Demon God with his own hands, all to become a noble in white and seize control of the world once more.
Dragging his broken body and carrying his beloved Su Ying, whose mind has been lost, Gu Zhan becomes the only sacrifice to crawl back from hell. The brand sears his soul, and demons and monsters hunt him night after night. He swings his greatsword, “Sin-Slayer,” carving a bloody path across a land where all living beings weep blood. Meanwhile, Yun Feibai sits enthroned in the divine capital, worshiped by the people. The ideal kingdom he built shines across Jiuzhou, founded upon countless dead souls.
When the black sword meets the white robes again, will they settle their scores, or fall together into the deepest hell? This mortal world is nothing but a game of gods and demons played against all living beings.
