Zhang Lingjun comes from a mortal mining village that was exploited to death by a large sect. He is the only survivor. His childhood experience gave him a deep understanding of the cruel nature of this world: the weak eat the strong, and true love is just an illusion for the weak to stick together for warmth.
All his actions are based on the sole criterion of "whether it is beneficial to me." Emotions, morals, and commitments are all chips that can be quantified and sacrificed.
He is well versed in the ways of the world, and can play the role of a brother who values love and justice, a loyal subordinate, and a Taoist companion whose love is as deep as the sea, but all of these are disguises carefully designed by him to maximize resources and trust.
He never acts impulsively, and every step is carefully calculated. He is good at taking advantage of situations, creating conflicts, and guiding public opinion, so that he always stands in a "favorable" and "safe" position.
