Transmigrated into the disgraced empress’s role, banished to the cold palace? Modern top HR director Lin Wan says: “No problem. This batch of ‘employees’ (eunuchs and palace maids), ‘management’ (the emperor and his ministers), and even ‘competitors’ (powerful officials and enemy states) can all be turned around with HR principles!”
The cold palace lacks food and clothing? She starts with “team building,” hands the eunuchs and maids “job descriptions,” ties their rations to performance, and uses negotiation tactics to bring the Imperial Household Department to heel, resolving the crisis in no time! The harem is locked in a cutthroat battle for favor? She abolishes pointless KPIs and introduces “cross-department collaboration” (the consorts do charity work and textile production), turning palace intrigue into office politics. With zero tolerance for corruption, even the Empress Dowager has to admit she’s “a professional”! The court is stagnant and short on talent? She opens a “Talent Hall” and conducts “behavioral interviews,” turning poor scholars into pillars of the state in an instant. “Performance audits” expose corrupt officials, while “360-degree evaluations” clear out redundant old ministers. Even the powerful officials fear being “optimized out”! The border is under threat and war looms? She rallies the troops with calls for “market expansion,” ties military achievements to promotions and raises, and uses “headhunting tactics” to recruit enemy generals. Through gentle conquest and talent integration, the neighboring country’s people surrender overnight!
From the cold palace’s “marginal department” to the “headquarters” of a global empire, she uses OKRs to set state policy, compensation incentives to win the people’s hearts, and SWOT analysis to turn the tide of battle. Along the way, she even turns the suspicious emperor into her “dedicated career partner and soulmate.” When HR jargon collides with ancient political intrigue, watch a deposed empress use “recruiting and assigning the worthy” to pacify the harem, set the court in order, unite the continent, and conquer the world, becoming the one and only “greatest sage empress in history”!
