“We share the same brilliant night sky, yet none of us knows that a threat called Honkai Impact 3rd lurks in the shadows beyond the reach of the lights.” But that was something Su Yu would often say later.
When he first entered St. Freya Academy, all he wanted was to live an ordinary life. He had never imagined becoming a hero. Then he encountered the care of Principal Theresa, the patient guidance of Teacher Jiang Lai, the wily physics teacher An Luo Xian, Instructor Himeko, both mentor and friend, his close friend Shui Tiao Zhu Lang, Sha Na, who was always up to mischief, the serious Shi Chui Ling, the composed class monitor Fu Hua, the gentle Mei, the quiet Bronya, the serene Seele, and Kiana, the innocent girl who was always shouting, “Fight for all that is beautiful in the world!”
Under their influence, Su Yu gradually came to understand that all the beauty in his life lay in the vivid people and moments around him, and in the yearning for happiness in countless hearts. He was willing to walk side by side with that “silly girl,” mending the shattered world little by little, until he could make an eternal vow to her, now the guardian of Earth.
Later, while giving a speech as a member of the Lamplighters Committee, he declared: “Honkai Impact 3rd waits for its chance in the darkness beyond the reach of our lights. But someone must hold up a lamp to guide those who have lost their way home. The world may be full of holes, but we must mend it, one stitch at a time. Thank you all for your dedication. May the day come when, beneath a brilliant, star-filled sky, we witness a beautiful world free of Honkai Impact 3rd.”
This is a story about growing up and fighting for all that is beautiful in the world.
