The Kitten the Commander Took In Is Actually a Little Princess from the Stars

[Period setting + charming, sweet interstellar princess & gentle, devoted, doting military officer] Wei Yue is supposed to take a time machine to Earth and prevent an interstellar war, but a programming error sends her there a hundred years too early, to China in 1970. To fit in, she marries Shen Yan, the human man who found her. But little by little, the way this officer looks at her starts to seem more and more unusual. She is the little princess of Shaqiu Star, and firmly believes she could never fall in love with a human from a primitive civilization, whose life span is so short. So she refuses to face her own feelings. When Shen Yan was young, someone read his fortune and said his future wife would come from a very faraway place. He just never imagined it would be that far. He loves Princess Wei Yue, adoring her cuteness and little fits of temper. He gives her all his sincere love, but even on the day he dies, he never hears her say the words “I love you.” The story ends with Princess Wei Yue, after completing her mission, repeatedly traveling by time machine back to 1970 for the sake of an ordinary human, whispering to that little island: Shen Yan, I miss you.
