Douluo Dalu: The Burning Heaven Spear God

Ling Yun, the “gun fanatic” of the 21st-century traditional martial arts world, is struck by lightning while pushing himself to his limits and transmigrates to Douluo Dalu. He becomes an orphan in Holy Soul Village, where he is lovingly raised by village chief Old Jack. He awakens two heaven-defying Twin Martial Souls: an overwhelmingly powerful Overlord Spear, perfectly suited to traditional spear techniques, and the mutated flame Fentian Flame, formed from the fusion of Fallen Heart Flame and Three Thousand Blazing Flames. To keep a low profile, Ling Yun conceals that he is a transmigrator and hides his Second Martial Soul, doing his best not to reveal his modern knowledge. He grows up alongside Tang San in Holy Soul Village, becoming a companion who is both rival and friend.

He refuses to take Yu Xiaogang as his teacher, firmly believing in the potential of his own traditional spear arts. He doesn’t come between Tang San and Xiao Wu; instead, as a “bad influence and fellow warrior,” he protects their bond. The story moves at a leisurely pace early on, with the comic mishaps Ling Yun causes in Holy Soul Village using traditional martial arts techniques, his heartwarming everyday life with Old Jack, and the contrasting “ice and fire” dynamic of his first meeting with Zhu Zhuqing. A cold, taciturn agility-type girl meets a sharp-tongued but dependable spear genius, and the two gradually go from disliking each other to mutual respect.

(This is a parallel world with some differences from the original. The broad outline remains the same. Please don’t flame me if it’s not to your taste.)
