A poem left unfinished lies hidden in Xu Beiju's youth.
It begins with Jiang Zhou.
He was like the brightest beam of summer sunlight, shining into her quiet world without warning. She thought she was the only one caught up in this tumult of emotions, so she tread carefully and kept it to herself.
It wasn't until one afternoon years later, when she opened a yellowed yearbook, that she found the familiar handwriting on the back of an inner page:
"If we'd been a little braver back then, would our ending have been different?"
Sadly, life has no what-ifs. With someone else by her side, she had already written the final lines of her poem.
