This is a story about secrets, persistence and redemption. In the summer of 1998, sixteen-year-old Liu Changhe experienced a drastic change that overturned his life in his hometown of Qingshiwan, a small coastal town that should have been peaceful. A bizarre "frozen sheep" incident involved a past that had been dusted by time, and also allowed him to unintentionally glimpse the deep-hidden secrets of his father's generation. For a promise and to protect the people he loves, Liu Changhe carries heavy shackles and leaves for a foreign country. Twelve years later, when he thought the past had disappeared with the wind, the gears of fate turned again, and a sudden news forced him to return to his hometown. Facing his hometown that has long since changed, his deeply misunderstood relatives, and the danger that has never left him, Liu Changhe must uncover the entire truth of the past in order to gain final relief. This is a "long story" story, about that special summer, about a sheep that died mysteriously, and more importantly, about a man's persistence and return for half his life.
