When words come to life, the boundary between reality and fiction completely collapses.
I can see words come alive. This is not a metaphor. At this moment, the word "forbidden" on the title page of the "Urban Traffic Regulations" on my desk is emitting a faint, unmistakable red light, causing anyone who sees it to subconsciously avoid this book. The words "Luxury Enjoyment" on the billboard outside the window are like golden bait, arousing the desires in the hearts of passers-by.
Most of the time, I pretend not to see it. Until today, I saw a book with no title and a plain black cover on the scrap book recycling shelf in the library. There are no floating "word spirit" light spots around it, and no meaning escapes. There is only an absolute "emptiness". What made my spine even more chilling was that when I subconsciously concentrated on looking at it, I actually... Couldn't read a single word on its inner pages. Those twisted symbols seemed to be squirming, silently mocking me.
I know, trouble is coming again. This time, it may be even stranger than "nothingness"...
