On the day the pilgrimage succeeded, a shocking fraud lay hidden in the Thunderclap Monastery on Spirit Mountain! The “true scriptures” of the Tathagata turned out to be a bloodthirsty formation that harvested the faith of all living beings. The Great Sage Equal to Heaven saw through the truth and was brutally suppressed, while the Six-Eared Macaque took his place and became a Buddha. The Three Realms became a testing ground for the gods and Buddhas!
Five hundred years later, a bloody rain descends on Chang’an, and the Eighty-Second Trial appears. Nameless, a little demon who once deserted from Flower-Fruit Mountain, unexpectedly inherits one of Wukong’s fallen hairs and awakens the Great Sage’s power. After his mentor at the teahouse is killed and a mysterious monk entrusts him with a dying wish, the words “The truth lies at Flower-Fruit Mountain” set him on a path defying Heaven.
The alliance of demons gathers, Erlang Shen weeps blood, the Kingdom of Women waits for five hundred years, and the Bull Demon King is consumed by flames… One sealed truth after another is revealed: the pilgrimage was a cycle of reincarnation designed to deceive, Jin Chanzi was brainwashed over ten lifetimes, Sha Wujing guards a monument to atone for his sins, and even Guanyin is powerless to act as she wishes!
Gather the seven fragments of the Golden Cudgel and reforge the Sea-Calming Needle; awaken the gods who have been controlled and form an allied army of the Three Realms. Carrying on Wukong’s legacy, Nameless storms Spirit Mountain, breaks into Hell, battles the Tathagata, and defies the ruler of higher dimensions, shouldering the banner of freedom in a mortal body!
As fragments of memory awaken, countless heroes make their final stand. In this revenge and redemption that spans five hundred years, who will survive to the end? When the sky splits open and eyes from a higher dimension look down upon the Three Realms, will everything be destroyed and reset, or can fate be defied?
The blazing battles never let up, and the twists keep coming. Follow an ordinary nobody’s rise to power and uncover the darkest truth behind Journey to the West!
