The Record of Ling Chen: Journey Through the Nine Realms of Xuancang tells the story of Ling Chen, an orphan from the eastern frontier. Born with the rare Chaos Physique, he is dismissed as a good-for-nothing who cannot cultivate, until an accident awakens the ancient divine and demonic essence sealed within him. This power is the foundation of his rise, but also conceals the danger of destruction. It further draws him into Xuancang’s forgotten ancient secrets: the cataclysmic war between the gods and demons, the doomsday prophecy of the Realm Heart’s decline, and the mystery of the divine artifact fragments scattered across the Nine Realms.
From a boy driven out by his village to a cultivator who stirs up the Eastern Wilderness, and then a guardian who crosses the Central Continent, Southern Sea, Western Desert, and Northern Frost, Ling Chen’s path is strewn with thorns. He must withstand suspicion from the righteous factions and pursuit by the wicked, balance the clashing divine and demonic forces within him, seek allies amid conflicts between the races, and unmask mysterious powers such as the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion. Along the way, he befriends Su Muyue, the Spirit Clan’s sacred maiden; Ao Lie, the Dragon Palace’s crown prince; and Lin Xiao, the Demon Clan’s young lord. He also faces fated showdowns with sworn enemies such as Murong Xuan, a prodigy of the Profound Heaven Sect.
Ultimately, as Ling Chen gathers the divine artifact fragments and reforges the Realm Heart, he not only breaks through the pinnacle of the nine cultivation realms, but also comes to understand the true meaning of power: it is not a tool for domination, but a responsibility to protect. When creatures from a higher-dimensional void descend, he has become Xuancang’s acknowledged leader. Bearing the hopes of every race, he embarks on a new journey to protect all realms, and his story becomes the opening chapter of a new era for Xuancang.
The story follows Ling Chen’s growth, weaving together the rise and fall of the Nine Realms’ many races, the revelation of ancient secrets, and the fight against an apocalyptic crisis, within an expansive world
