Thirty-eight-year-old retired special forces soldier Wang Yanzhou lives in seclusion next to a construction site in a small southern town with old injuries and a failed relationship. He originally wanted to spend the rest of his life in silence, but unexpectedly met Zhou Ming, a 23-year-old construction worker. Zhou Ming was like a wild deer that strayed into the steel forest, illiterate and ignorant of the ways of the world. Wang Yanzhou just looked at him pitifully at first, but later he was captured by his clumsy kindness inch by inch. Starting from a bowl of noodles, the two clumsily and slowly learned to trust and love again in a wooden house, under a tower crane, and on a dusty construction site.
