Shen Gui, a senior lurker in the shadow world, specializes in being invisible in the crowd, smirking in meetings, and asking himself the meaning of life in midnight restaurants. He is not the kind of hero who saves the world. Instead, he is better at stealing other people's troubles and then returning his own to them. Shen Gui's job is to handle "abnormal events" for the shadow world, but his biggest problem is actually how to explain to his boss that he accidentally confused reality and the shadow world when he was at work, causing everyone to work overtime in the shadow.
One day, Shen Gui received a strange commission: he must lurk into the dream of a narcissistic patient to prevent the dream from leaking into reality. Unfortunately, as soon as he sneaked in, he was mistaken by the dreamer for a relative and was dragged to a family gathering. While Shen Gui was drinking fictional juice in his dream, he was trying to figure out whether he was saving the world or helping people with psychological counseling.
Highlights of the story: The weird rules of the shadow world, Shen Gui's always unreliable partner, and every mission seems like the universe is playing a joke on him. The core conflict is that Shen Gui tries to use the absurd logic of the shadow world to solve bizarre real-life problems, but always gets himself into bigger troubles. Humor, absurdity, and philosophy all come together, and the hidden life of Shengui is guaranteed to make you laugh and think about what real "existence" is.
